In getting ready
for this years Medicine Wheel, I came across the following
comment from 1993 in my first Medicine Wheel guest book.
It helps me remember why I continue to do this work.
I have
lost too many friends to be able to cry. I have AIDS also
and will join them again one day. Sitting in the Medicine
Wheel , watching Krya Strasberg dance, looking at all the
little shrines, made me be able to shed a few tears. I am
still alive.
After all these
years I still have trouble fathoming the enormity of the
AIDS crisis and the numbers of those affected by this disease.
I cant even begin to comprehend all the pain and sorrow
of all the persons affected. I know the pain of losing someone
close though, and this helps me see that the numbers translate
into the names and faces of those we love.
For in
the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the
desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the
thirsty land springs of water.
